Piedmont Healthcare has selected integrated performance improvement solution, Sunrise EPSi, from Eclipsys, a provider of clinical and revenue cycle software.
Piedmont expects to vastly streamline its financial reporting and analysis processes for improved business performance and organizational efficiency by replacing disparate, competitive legacy technologies in its four hospitals.
According to Eclipsys, Piedmont has selected its integrated database that can automate the data gathering required for true cost accounting and budgeting processes. With Sunrise EPSi, everyone from senior management to department managers will gain daily updates to determine more accurately the costs of providing patient care at an activity level in support of enhanced profitability analysis.
Dashboard views give users access to review data either at a procedure code level, diagnosis related group (DRG) level, or by doctor or product line. Eclipsys’s decision support solution also will enable Piedmont to determine consistent costing across its four facilities for comparative analysis.
In addition, Piedmont will benefit from EPSi’s contract management module as an effective tool to review forecasted net revenues against actual revenues, said Eclipsys.

With our hospitals on multiple products and multiple databases, extra steps and workarounds were necessary to collect and aggregate financial information into actionable data for budgeting and other forms of decision support.
