The new terms of service are set to go live on April 14.
Google has modified its terms of service to make clear that it examines private data, such as emails, to deliver ads as well customised search results, amid increasing user concerns on how firms deal with their data.
Users of the search firm were concerned about the firm’s automated scanning of emails and other information.
The modified terms read: "Our automated systems analyse your content (including emails) to provide you with personally relevant product features, such as customised search results, tailored advertising, and spam and malware detection."
Google faced heavy criticism in EU over its search practises including misusing its domination in search to its benefit.
However, Google offered concessions to EU Competition Commission to display rivals’ links more significantly, failing which it could have faced a fine of up to $5bn.
