Designed to provide deep capability across virtual desktops, monitoring, capacity management
Quest Software has launched a new complete, end-to-end Virtualisation Management offering designed to meet the challenges posed by today’s mature virtual infrastructure.
Industry analysts say the total amount of virtualisation data is expected to grow 800% in the next five years, and up to 50% of data today is considered mission critical, said Quest Software.
Quest Software’s new offering has been designed to provide deep capability across: backup and recovery; virtual desktops; virtualisation monitoring; virtualisation capacity management; application performance monitoring; and network management.
The company said that there are several new additions to Quest’s virtualisation management portfolio.
Foglight for Virtual Desktops 5.6 turns performance monitoring to the virtual desktop environment, while vFoglight 6.6 responds to market demand for improved capacity management.
Enhanced vWorkspace connectors help organisations maintain better control, while enabling the workforce to connect to virtualised environments using the most popular Linux, Android and Mac-based devices, said Quest Software.
The vRanger Pro 5.2 increases performance with Hot Add capability for backup and replication, said the company.
Quest Software director of product marketing Mike Pagani said as virtualisation continues to move into the mainstream, customers increasingly require a comprehensive, overarching offering to manage their complex infrastructures and keep critical applications running, simply and efficiently.
"As opposed to other vendors in the space who offer only point products and sell more on roadmaps than on proven market-leading solutions, Quest delivers now on what our customers need today, and we remain committed to enhancing our complete virtualisation management tool set as future needs evolve," Pagani said.
