Expected to bring the benefits of desktop virtualisation to a wider range of users
Quest Software in partnership with MokaFive has launched Quest vWorkspace – MokaFive Suite, a local Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) offering that manages, secures and delivers virtual desktops to Windows and Mac laptops and desktops.
According to Quest Software, this platform brings the benefits of desktop virtualisation to a wider range of users, especially those who are not always connected to the network or even members of a traditional security domain.
It extends a new level of efficiency and security across and beyond the enterprise, and uses the power of local computing resources to deliver an outstanding user experience, claims Quest Software.
Quest Software Desktop Virtualization Group vice president of product management Jon Rolls said Quest vWorkspace – MokaFive Suite provides a less expensive and more flexible ‘local VDI’ alternative.
"Used in conjunction with the rest of the Quest vWorkspace family, it delivers an enhanced user experience at a far lower cost, with simplified management and the widest choice of access devices," Rolls said.
Quest Software said the addition of Quest vWorkspace – MokaFive Suite enables a true Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) model, allowing employees to literally use any recent PC or Mac computer and work in a secure, protected environment.
With Quest vWorkspace – MokaFive Suite there are no Hardware Compatibility Lists or restrictions on graphics subsets, and support is available for both PCs and Macs.
