Research In Motion (RIM), a provider of wireless innovation, has introduced the newest addition to the BlackBerry Bold series of smartphones ‘BlackBerry Bold 9780’ in Australia.
Featuring an easy-to-use keyboard and optical trackpad, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 comes with improved communications and multimedia features, and it also runs on BlackBerry 6 operating system.
Users will benefit from new updates including a new user interface, WebKit-based browser, a universal search feature, and it comes with a 5MP camera with continuous auto focus, scene modes, image stabilisation, flash and video recording.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 supports 3G networks around the world, as well as Wi-Fi, and includes GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 also includes 512MB Flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage.
The BlackBerry 6 OS integrates a WebKit-based browser, which offers fluid navigation using the handset’s optical trackpad, that includes tabs for accessing multiple sites simultaneously and provides a zoom feature.
Additional features of BlackBerry 6 include messaging capabilities to simplify the management of social networking and RSS feeds, integrated access to BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and various instant messaging applications on the BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone.
It also features redesigned Music and Pictures applications and a new universal search feature that enables users to search for content on the smartphone, and also helps extend their search to the Internet or to discover applications on BlackBerry App World.
