The South Korean company installed Disable_Windowsupdate.exe software.
Microsoft has accused Samsung of blocking a Windows update from some of the laptops made by the South Korean firm featuring Windows 8 and 8.1 OS.
Microsoft technical expert Patrick Barker claims that Samsung used a file named Disable_Windowsupdate.exe to blocki the Windows update.
Samsung denied the allegations by saying: "It is not true that we are blocking a Windows 8.1 operating system update on our computers.
"As part of our commitment to consumer satisfaction, we are providing our users with the option to choose if and when they want to update the Windows software on their products."
Samsung also claims that the SW update allows users to download the newest drives, updates and software for your Windows PC.
However, after the reports went viral Barker clarified by saying that he did not imply that the software blocked Windows 8.1 OS system update, rather it prevented Windows Update from automatically installing updates, letting users choose to download or not to download the content.
Barker added that if Windows Update was turned on manually, it was disabled by the Samsung update when the system was rebooted.
