Allows drag and drop content synchronisation between SharePoint and enterprise content management platforms
SeeUnity, a provider of enterprise content integration and migration products, has released Synchronise Express, which enables information workers to transfer content between SharePoint and external enterprise content management (ECM) repositories.
The company said that system admins can configure Synchronise Express to pair SharePoint folders with corresponding folders in external repositories, including ECM systems, line of business applications, or file shares.
According to SeeUnity, content placed in the source folder is automatically copied into its corresponding destination folder and the subsequent changes to source documents are mirrored across to the destination folder. Content can be synchronised from SharePoint out to an ECM system or from an ECM system out to SharePoint.
The company claims that the new Synchronisation express includes features such as, mapping tools to define rules, bi-directional content transfer, cross folder copying or synchronisation, inheritable metadata and security, conversion to PDF (publishing from ECM to SharePoint), transfers files and folders and monitoring tools audit processing.
SeeUnity said synchronisation can satisfy business demands including, creating local content caches for improved performance; providing read and write access to duplicated files, while protecting master versions; share and collecting information with external users outside of ECM environment; and archive and protect SharePoint content as ECM document of record.
Brant Henne, marketing director for SeeUnity, said: Synchronise Express delivers a new type of content integration for SharePoint, customers have requested an agile, cost-optimised solution for moving content between SharePoint and external content management systems. Synchronise Express provides this ability – with a product that installs in minutes and requires no specialised user training.
