The watch will run on Android operating system.
Sony is reportedly planning to launch its new smart watch at the upcoming Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai that will be held during 26 to June 28, 2013.
The watch is expected to run on Google’s Android operating system and also support near field communication (NFC) for one-touch pairing with mobile and will use Bluetooth to connect.
The new device is expected to be an upgrade version of the Android based smartwatch that was launched in 2012 and also have larger screen compared to its predecessor.
Older version of the device enabled the users to read SMS, e-mails, and Twitter updates as well as control the music played through the phone.
Sony had unveiled its first smartwatch in 2007 that had an LED display and allowed the users to read text and also supported apps.
Earlier, Apple has revealed that it is working on the new smartwatch called as iWatch, while Microsoft and LG are also reportedly developing their respective wearable devices.
