OMVS forms new joint venture with Spud McCool Media to create new mobile apps
Worldwide tablet computer sales are set to grow to 63.6 million units this year, according to technology company On the Move Systems (OMVS).
The company said that now is the time to capitalise on the booming market for mobile applications.
Earlier this month, IT research firm Gartner had predicted that 63.6 million tablets represent a 261% rise over 2010’s sales totals. OMVS said that the market for the breakthrough wireless devices is just getting warmed up.
OMVS CEO Patrick Brown said that with tablet sales set to explode around the globe, the company is extremely confident that the new mobile applications they are developing with Spud McCool Media are going to find a very large and receptive audience.
OMVS also said that it has formed a new joint venture with mobile content provider Spud McCool Media to create innovative new products in a mobile applications market forecast to reach $7.68bn by the end of the year.
"The sales growth of tablet computers and mobile apps are feeding off of one another," Brown said.
"We’re witnessing the beginnings of the next great computing revolution, and we’re working hard to position OMVS to capitalise."
