As integral part of its enterprise-wide middleware infrastructure
Web middleware company MuleSoft said that its Mule ESB and Tcat Sever has been selected by Sweden’s Volvofinans Bank, as integral part of their enterprise-wide middleware infrastructure.
MuleSoft, in partnership with system integrator Callista Enterprise, will support efforts at the financial services company to drive more efficiency and agility in its development practices.
At Volvofinans, Mule ESB will replace a legacy integration platform, to enhance the IT team’s ability to develop and integrate application services. The selection of Mule ESB was based on its lightweight combined with full-featured support for integrating all types of applications, transports, and protocols, the company said.
In addition to Mule ESB, Volvofinans has also selected MuleSoft’s Tcat Server as a part of its web application infrastructure, at a lower total cost than existing JEE application servers. As Tcat Server is based on Apache Tomcat with no changes to the core code, Volvofinans can deploy their existing Tomcat applications to Tcat Server.
Peter Merikan, IT architect at Volvofinans Bank, said: We believe that Mule ESB can help us lower our development costs and improve agility, resulting in more efficient business processes. Because Mule’s programming model allows us to leverage our existing development processes and tools, we can avoid unnecessary disruption and maximise developer productivity.
We view MuleSoft as the market leader among open source players in the middleware space. In our evaluation, Mule rated highly with us on ease-of-development, while delivering the stability and functionality that we need.
