Expanded capacity to support the requirements for critical analysis and reporting across departments
US-based Winn-Dixie Stores has expanded its Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse capacity in order to satisfy analytic demand from its corporate and retail user base.
Teradata said that the expanded capacity will support the requirements for critical analysis and reporting across the company’s merchandising, supply chain, and marketing departments. As it expands the reach of its database user community, Winn-Dixie is planning to add additional subject matter areas to its enterprise data warehouse (EDW).
The Teradata Active EDW platform is a multi-terabyte system that supports category management, customer analysis, and campaign management in support of the chain’s merchandising and marketing initiatives. Winn-Dixie is a user of Teradata Customer Relationship Management software running on the Teradata EDW.
Maura Hart, senior director of IT at Winn Dixie, said: Teradata has been a significant partner to Winn-Dixie over recent years and we have found their expertise, as well as their data warehouse, to be of considerable business value. We look forward to increasing our enterprise-class intelligence to enable timely, fact-based decisions.
Dean Wold, vice president of retail sales at Teradata East, said: Winn-Dixie has impressive plans to grow the business during tough economic times, and we are delighted that they hold strong confidence in Teradata systems to provide the intelligence and insight they rely on for marketing and sales initiatives.
