Xeround, a provider of real-time database virtualization software, has launched the Xeround Intelligent Data Grid version 2.8.
Xeround has said that the release of the new version improves upon Xeround Intelligent Data Grid’s (IDG’s) capabilities for real time, scalable database virtualization that unifies data across multiple networks and businesses while still improving total cost-of-ownership.
According to the company, the customers implementing Xeround IDG version 2.8 can now extend the life and usage of existing data assets to accelerate the time to market of new products and services while dramatically reducing costs.
Xeround IDG version 2.8 allows for real-time access to data regardless of where it physically exists, provides support for multiple data access protocols and also has a flexible self-healing architecture that allows for continuity of service even in the event of a failure. Xeround IDG version 2.8 is currently in beta and will be made generally available to the public in late January 2009.
Charlotte Yarkoni, CEO of Xeround, said: Xeround IDG was designed to address the need for highly scalable in-the-network data management. With Version 2.8, we have enhanced our product to support a greater number of architectures and added more flexibility for managing the system.
