Zix, a provider e-mail encryption and e-prescribing services, and Code Green Networks, a provider of data loss prevention systems, have launched an integrated DLP-based e-mail encryption solution.
According to the company, the integrated solution provides accurate data loss prevention across all network channels together with a policy-based email encryption service to secure the communication of sensitive information in e-mail.
The company claims that data loss pretension (DLP) solution prevents the inappropriate dissemination of sensitive information. Moreover, the most efficient communication mechanism is email, and businesses need to be able to communicate certain sensitive information securely. By combining DLP with e-mail encryption, business exchanges of sensitive information can continue while preventing loss or inappropriate access.
Based on an organization’s needs, Code Green Networks and Zix (ZixCorp) offer two different tightly integrated solutions for delivering DLP-based email encryption. With both integrated solutions, a Code Green Content Inspection (CI) Appliance is deployed at the organization’s internet gateway to inspect all network traffic and enforce policy-based encryption on outgoing e-mail.
The CI-Appliance can either be paired with a ZixCorp email encryption appliance also located at the customer site, or it can be integrated with ZixCorp’s Email Encryption Service. With both integrations, the connection between the Code Green CI-Appliance and the ZixCorp network is over a secure channel encrypted with TLS (Transport Layer Security), ensuring secure communication from the point the email leaves the customer network.
