Comprehensive DDoS protection; and centralised attack analysis by the Imperva SOC
Imperva, a data security offerings provider for high-value business data in the data centre, has launched its secure cloud-based service – Imperva Cloud DDoS Protection – that the company says safeguards businesses from debilitating and protracted Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
Imperva said organisations have to subscribe to this service to protect against the downtime and brand damage, and potential lost revenue caused by DDoS attacks.
Imperva CTO Amichai Shulman said hackers frequently tune DDOS attacks, and the new cloud-based service will help enterprises better block one of the main weapons in a hacker’s arsenal.
"The Imperva Cloud DDoS service combines scalable DDoS protection that is tuned in real time by a team of DDoS experts with technology powered by Imperva’s cloud-based subsidiary Incapsula," Shulman said.
The Imperva Cloud DDoS Protection service offers fast, comprehensive DDoS protection; centralised attack analysis by the Imperva Security Operations Center (SOC); and is affordable and easy-to-deploy.
The new service is powered by Imperva’s cloud-based subsidiary Incapsula to defend against all types of DDoS threats, including network-based attacks, like SYN or UDP floods, and application attacks that attempt to overwhelm server resources.
During installation, Imperva Cloud DDoS Protection does not require expensive hardware and avoid overhead costs for customers who want to ensure maximum application uptime.
Imperva Cloud DDoS Protection complements the capabilities of the SecureSphere Web Application Firewall, which stops application DDoS attacks and better deal attacks designed to overwhelm organisations’ Internet connections, the company said.
