Supports password changes, rules and synchronisation for end-user security
LTech, a provider of cloud computing products and services, has launched Single Sign-On for Google Apps, a cloud enablement product for the Google Apps platform.
The company said that the new offering enables small, mid-size or large organisations to supplement their existing ActiveDirectory or LDAP-based directory investment to secure the cloud-based Google Apps collaboration platform. It supports password changes, rules and synchronisation to enable IT administrators to ensure end-user continuity and security.
According to Ltech, the enterprise cloud security product can be deployed on-premise within the corporate firewall or on the company’s hosted platform. It allows end-users to use their existing credentials to access Google Apps from browser, mobile device or third-party mail clients like GMail, iPhone and Microsoft Outlook.
The setup reduces the inconvenience of updating multiple passwords for end-users, and allows IT administrators to enforce password strength and change management policies, the company claims.
The company said that the new offering supports IMAP and POP access and synchronisation with mobile devices and third-party messaging clients; provides customisable templates, secure LDAPS and SAML support; and updates passwords in both Google Apps and the enterprise directory.
In addition, the Single Sign-On for Google Apps is compatible with Windows 2003 and 2008 Servers and supports Google Apps Postini and OpenID features to extend security investment to multiple third-party applications.
