Malwarebytes has launched a new Malwarebytes Enterprise Edition (MEE), which is expected to offer centrally deployed, administered and monitored layer of threat protection and malware remediation to business, government and educational customers.
The Malwarebytes Adaptive Research (AR) platform, which is the hub of MEE, incorporates about 250 advanced technologies and components to detect new malware families and forecast emerging threat attributes.
The protection is offered through integrated engine technologies including Chameleon, Advanced Predictive Behavioral Detections, Attack Pattern Heuristics, Malicious Website Blocking and Rapid Rogue Identification.
MEE is targeted at offering protection from the threat posed by malwares including zero-day, polymorphic and blended malware threats which could avoid usual enterprise antivirus solutions.
Malwarebytes CEO Marcin Kleczynski said modern malware is able to bypass many of the antivirus technologies currently deployed in today’s enterprise, posing a serious risk to corporate data.
"Built from the ground up, we developed a new approach to secure, control and remediate endpoints that has already been broadly adopted in the consumer marketplace," Kleczynski said.
The compatibility of MEE with all major antivirus programmes allows it to offer enhanced approach to business security that provides the additional real-time protection needed against today’s new and emerging web-based threats.
Claimed to defend both physical and virtualised environments in an easy to use and resource efficient anti-malware application, MEE is designed as a centralised protection management system.
MEE’s threat protection, offered through an automated detection engine by combining predictive heuristics, behavioral and signature analysis, is claimed to detect and block entire families of malware and even predict future mutations.
According to the firm, MEE also integrates enhanced threat and malware remediation technologies which would allow removing allregistry traces of malware.
The database of MEE will be updated in the background with no requirement of network endpoints to be rebooted.
In addition, instead of performing the random scans that can negatively affect bandwidth, MEE’s scheduled and unscheduled networkinspections are precise and efficient.
MEE also enables a system administrator to supervise and manage Malwarebytes software all through the firm’s network.
The new MEE is compatible with Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2, further supporting XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating system clients.
