To protect Mac desktops, laptops, servers and Apple devices
Panda Security has launched Antivirus for Mac Corporate Edition, a new offering for companies operating with hybrid computing environments.
The antivirus for Mac Corporate edition provides protection against malware that affect Macintosh computers, whether they are running on Mac OS, Mac OS X, Windows or Linux.
The security offering protects Mac desktops, laptops, servers, and prevents Apple devices including: iPhones, iPads and iPods from transmitting malware to other operating systems, said the company.
The antivirus offering includes a centralised administration console which simplifies the job of deploying the offering across networks, and facilitates the implementation of security policies and real-time monitoring of security.
The antivirus for Mac Corporate Edition includes two scan engines: one to deliver on-access or resident protection, and the other to perform on-demand scans on folders, files and email, detecting and eliminating or blocking all types of threats.
In addition, the offering addresses other threats including trojans, viruses, spyware, adware, hacking tools, botnets, and others designed for Windows, but which can also affect the Mac platform.
Panda Security corporate product director Bruno Rodriguez said many companies, universities, and other organisations now operate with a diverse network topology including Mac servers and workstations that work alongside Windows and other systems.
"In these mixed environments, it is crucial to protect against specific threats that target Apple platforms, as well as ensure Mac devices cannot be used as carriers for threats to other platforms and the Antivirus for Mac Corporate Edition takes care of all these concerns through a single offering," Rodriguez said.
