Sprint Nextel, a provider of wireless and wireline communications services, has introduced Sprint Secure Web Protection, which will include both a network and premise-based service for customers; both options will reportedly provide businesses with content filtering and web protection from a variety of internet threats.
According to the company, the new managed security service controls web access, offers protection against spyware, adware, viruses and phishing. It reportedly enables businesses to effectively manage internet content and allows IP and MPLS-based networks to operate efficiently.
Sprint said that its Secure Web Protection is a component of the company’s suite of managed service that help businesses optimize their networks and maintain business continuity.
Dan Dooley, president of wireline at Sprint, said: By removing malicious or unwanted traffic from a network, businesses can save time and money by allowing only clean, business-critical traffic to get through. With Sprint Secure Web Protection, businesses can control access to the web, prevent viruses, trojans, worms and other internet threats from entering their networks and more efficiently use their transport for business-related traffic.
