Yoggie Security Systems, a developer of hardware-based computer security products, has announced a range of discreet devices that can block attacks including spam, phishing, malware, Trojans and worms, on users’ laptops while on holiday.
Yoggie’s Gatekeeper portable security devices provide plug and play protection to laptop users while sharing insecure Internet hotspots in hotels, cafes or airports with multiple users. The devices act as physical barriers to the internet traffic and screen it before allowing into the laptop.
The 12-layer security software of the devices includes anti-spam, anti-virus and anti-phishing facilities.
The Gatekeeper products include Gatekeeper Pico and Gatekeeper Card Pro. The devices have their own processors, memory, and operating system and combine security software with proprietary technologies.
Gatekeeper Pico is a USB stick device. It has won the “Best Wireless Broadband Security Innovation” in the Wireless Broadband Industry Awards 2008 while Gatekeeper Pico Pro has won the Innovationspreis – IT Security award at CeBIT 2008.
Gatekeeper Card Pro provides the same functionality as the Pico but in ExpressCard format. The products are available immediately online or at Yoggies e-tailers Amazon, Play.com, Expansys, Maplin and PC World in the UK, at £99.
As well as the Gatekeeper devices, Yoggie offers the Firestick Pico USB mini-computer for firewall-only protection at £60.
