High availability and disaster recovery capabilities
The business interaction networks company Axway has released MailGate 5.0, to protect the entire email network and reduce infrastructure costs and the liabilities associated with unsecured and unmanaged email communications.
The company said MailGate 5.0 integrates email network protection, policy-based content filtering, automated encryption and more, allowing companies to leverage disaster recovery and high availability capabilities to survive a data or server catastrophe with email intact.
The new version includes secure messaging functionality on a hardened Linux appliance, and enterprise-class features such as gateway-to-gateway encryption, regulatory compliance lexicons, enhanced digital rights management, archiving capabilities and support for Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6).
Axway MailGate 5.0 offers inbound threat protection and reduces network congestion with advanced virus protection, anti-spam filtering and defense against dark traffic.
The new offering delivers efficient outbound and inbound message security and data loss prevention (DLP) and enforces policies that protect confidential information and intellectual property, and ensures compliance with government regulations and corporate policies.
Axway MailGate can also decrypt and inspect S/MIME encrypted email against an organisation’s set policies, and also validates digital signatures and enforces policy on digitally signed messages.
MailGate also supports email security infrastructures for large enterprises, and offers multi-tenancy support, allowing different policies to be applied to different business units and departments reducing deployment and maintenance costs.
It leverages network-attached storage (NAS) for seamless functionality in the event of system failure and incorporates Axway Secure Messenger, a policy-based email encryption platform.
