Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has launched 3TB Hitachi Deskstar Internal Hard Drive Kit, 3TB Hitachi XL USB 2.0 Drive, and 3TB Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 and 5K3000 hard drive families.
The company said this new line up of 3TB storage offerings is for a broad range of users from consumers to OEMs leveraging high-capacity 3TB drives across a variety of segments.
The new 3TB, 7200 RPM Kit includes a high-performance Deskstar 7K3000 hard drive, mounting screws, step-by-step instructions.
Deskstar also has software that enables 32- and 64-bit Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X and Linux systems to tap into the full capacity and power of the 3TB drive, as one big massive data drive, without having to install extra hardware.
It comes in 3TB and 2TB capacity and has 64MB buffer and a 6Gb/s SATA interface.
The company claims Hitachi XL Desktop external hard drives offers users a way to store and protect important digital content and comes in 3TB capacity and USB 2.0 connectivity with which both Mac and PC users get enough capacity to store or backup their growing music libraries, digital photos and movie collections.
The new Deskstar 7K3000 drive delivers a blend of reliability, capacity, performance and power efficiency for video RAID arrays, home or business PCs, high-performance workstations and gaming systems.
The new Hitachi Deskstar 5K3000 family of drives delivers low power and quieter operation for environmentally-friendly computers, and are available in capacities of 3TB, 2TB and 1.5TB with a 32MB buffer. It also combines Hitachi’s Coolspin Technology to create a new class of drives that run cooler and require less power.
