To provide small businesses and remote offices with up to 4TB of networked storage
Storage and network security applications provider Iomega, an EMC company, has expanded its network solutions portfolio with the launch of a new NAS product.
The company said Iomega StorCenter Pro ix4-100 NAS provides small businesses and remote offices with up to 4TB of networked storage. The four-SATA drive NAS powered by EMC’s Linux-based LifeLine software is designed for cross-platform computer support and downloadable feature upgrades.
Other features include fast data throughput, multiple RAID configurations, RSA based enterprise security protection, a small footprint, Windows active directory support, expandable storage capability, various formats including Fat32, NTFS, or ext2/ext3 formatted hard disks, and a system dashboard. It also includes MozyHome online backup service.
Jonathan Huberman, president of Iomega, said: The ix4 features the EMC LifeLine operating system and incorporates other EMC storage technologies used by the world’s largest organizations. Add-in features such as a media server, hot-swappable drives, Bluetooth and video surveillance capabilities make the ix4 a versatile network storage solution for today’s fast-moving small businesses and remote offices.
The 2TB StorCenter Pro ix4-100 NAS Server is available now for $800. The 4TB version will be available later this month for $1,300.
