A drop-in replacement for hard drives in data center
SiliconSystems, a provider of advanced storage technology services, has launched new SiliconDrive III solid-state storage technology platform.
According to the company, this new generation of SiliconSystems’s SiliconDrive products features faster read/write speeds, increased capacities and mechanical scalability.
SiliconDrive III is a drop-in replacement for hard drives in data center and embedded system storage applications such as multimedia content delivery systems and data streaming media appliances, said the company.
SiliconDrive III product is integrated with SiliconSystems’s advanced storage technology, which includes the company’s patented PowerArmor, SiSMART and SolidStor technologies that address critical original equipment manufacturer design considerations such as the elimination of drive corruption due to power anomalies, the ability to monitor a SiliconDrive’s useable life in real-time and integrated advanced storage technologies that ensure data integrity and solid-state drive life for multi-year product deployments.
Gary Drossel, vice president of product planning at SiliconSystems, said: SiliconSystems’s new SiliconDrive III solid-state drives are ideal for a broad range of data center, industrial and embedded system applications that require an advanced storage technology solution with mechanical scalability ranging from 2.5-inch drive form factors to smaller MiniBlade or CFast form factors.
