Bernalillo County, New Mexico, has deployed DiVitas Networks’s mobile unified communication application for its workers.
According to DiVitas, spread across 100 different buildings and with approximately 500 mobile staff working in the field as well as on campus, Bernalillo County has already begun to see positive results from its deployment of its mobile unified communication (UC) service.
The county selected Nokia’s E71 Eseries smartphones to run the DiVitas Client. The county also runs the SAP Mobile Assets Management application on their Nokia devices, along side the DiVitas mobile UC application.
Paul Roybal, chief information officer for Bernalillo County, said: We needed to mobilize more of our staff while lowering our communications costs. We selected DiVitas because it allowed us to do both. We also switched from our longtime CDMA cellular service provider to T-Mobile to be able to use the DiVitas solution on Nokia Eseries dual mode phones, which are not supported by the CDMA cellular service provider.
