An average British citizen spends nine hours a day online and such is hunger for broadband connectivity, 45% would sacrifice chocolate, 22% alcohol and 22% sex for a week rather than ditch their connectivity.
Just 9% of broadband dependent Brits would choose to ditch broadband for a week ahead of other choices.
Londoners spend up to 12 hours connected to the web, making them the most broadband-dependent UK residents.
London homes are also said to be the smartest homes in the country, with an average of five internet connected devices including computers, smartphones, game consoles, thermostats and lighting systems.
This compares with three internet-based devices across the rest of the UK.
Streaming to television has also increased across households in UK, as 43% prefer to download HD TV, and 25% prefer stream high definition TV and claims that the video buffers up to eight times at an hour at peak times.
Hyperoptic managing director Dana Tobak said: "Britain is renowned across the world as being a nation of fast adopters and Internet enthusiasts.
"Connectivity plays a key role in how we work, shop and relax. UK residents are doubling their broadband data usage year-on-year, and having a fast, reliable service is at the heart of improving our quality of life as we increasingly spend more time online."
The findings were based on a survey conducted by Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) provider, Hyperoptic, of 3,000 UK consumers.
