Google has unveiled its next generation Nexus devices which include a big screen smartphone, a tablet and a set top box, all running on Android Lollipop.
The Nexus 6 is a 5.96" smartphone which comes with a Quad HD display with 1440×2560 resolution and features a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera.
Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and it comes with internal storage option of 32GB or 64GB.
The metal finish phone is designed by Motorola and it features 3220mAh battery.
Google’s other flagship Nexus 9 tablet is designed by HTC and features an 8.9" IPS LCD display.
It is powered by a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 2 GB of RAM and comes with a storage option of 16GB costing $399 or 32GB variant costing $649.
The tablet features HTC’s signature front-facing HTC BoomSound speakers along with a 1.6MP front camera and an 8 MP rear camera.
The Nexus 9 is made of soft-touch plastic with brushed metal sides and features a magnetically attached, fully-responsive keyboard.
The company also launched the Nexus Player, a cylindrical set top box powered by Android L which will allow users to view content across various devices.
Reports suggest that it is Google’s take on Apple TV and Roku which is a similar kind of device used for streaming content.
Users will be able to stream movies and browse apps using Nexus Player and control the device using a voice search-enabled remote control.
THE device will also come with an optional Gamepad, sold separately for $39.99 to enhance the gaming experience on the big screen.
The devices will be available for pre order from October 17th.
