Targets youth audience
South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has launched two new mobile phones designed around the Corby concept, the Samsung Corby(TXT) and Samsung Corby(PRO).
The company said that the new phones would reach to youth audience and fits its strategy of ‘designing a wealth of handsets to match every different lifestyle’.
According to Samsung, the Corby(TXT) is a message-centric mobile delivering SMS and IM (Instant Messenger) feature as well as simple social media uploading functionality. It comes with full QWERTY keyboard on the face of the phone, 3.5mm earphone jack and like the original Samsung Corby, it also comes with brightly-coloured fashion jackets and changeable battery covers.
The Corby(TXT) measures 110.96 x 59.55 x 12..9 mm and comes with 2.2-inch QCIF 262K TFT-LCD screen, 2-megapixel camera, FM Radio with RDS, and microSD expandable up to 8GB. It is expected to be available in most European countries by the end of September.
The Samsung Corby(PRO) is a hybrid slider which takes the cutting edge design of the original Samsung Corby and adds a full, slide out QWERTY keyboard. It comes with entertainment and multimedia capabilities and includes push email services, conversational SMS, native Facebook and MySpace. It comes with a 3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, 3G/HSDPA, quad band connectivity, 3.5mm ear jack, FM Radio with RDS and microSD memory up to 16GB, the company said.
