Company increases mobile, TV and broadband customer bases.
TalkTalk has reported strong demand for data services and 28% growth in its year-on-year data product revenues.
The broadband, telephone and TV company revealed its second quarter financial results today, and said it has added another 27,000 people to its mobile customer base.
The increase takes its base to 202,000, while another 22,000 fibre optic broadband users have contributed to a base of 95,000.
The largest increase however was its 160,000 new customers to its budget TV service, YouView, flummoxing predictions that it would lose out to BT’s imminent free sports channels.
Jerry Dellis, analyst at Jefferies bank, said: "TV momentum strengthened through the quarter. This reinforces our view that BT/Sky sparring is taking place in higher-spending demographic to which TalkTalk is less exposed."
The company also laid 1,549 Ethernet and EFM lines during the quarter and hopes strategic partnerships signed with Logicalis, Callway One and Imex will extend the market reach of its products.
The newly installed cables mean its network comprises 2,098 Ethernet-enabled exchanges, the UK’s largest such set-up.
It has also signed a data contract with logistics firm DX Group.
