Norway-based telecom operator Telenor has awarded Airspan, a US-based provider of WiMAX-based broadband wireless access networks, a contract to expand its network across Norway, as part of its multi-year agreement.
According to Airspan, its WiMAX solutions will enable Telenor offer business and residential high-speed data services in several additional regions nationwide and deliver IP services to new subscribers.

The Airspan solutions interface to our existing broadband delivery systems and perfectly meet our needs enabling us to successfully build our network and achieve our business objectives. This second phase deployment is well under way and will continue through several months.
