We take a look at the best handsets for use both in and out of the office.
BlackBerry Z30 & Q10
The BlackBerry name is synonymous with business, having revolutionised working on the go over the past decade. However the company has fallen on tough times recently as the mobile market has become more crowded, and has undergone somewhat of a transformation in the past year. This included a break from tradition with the release of several new devices featuring touchscreen controls, with the Z30 (pictured above left) the high-specification model around.
Featuring a 5in screen supported by 2GB RAM, there is more than enough power to handle multi-tasking, and also features crisp sound quality thanks to BlackBerry’s Natural Sound technology, meaning it is ideal for conference calls too.
If you’re still hankering for the ‘classic’ BlackBerry feel, then the Z30’s sister device, the Q10 (pictured above right), released last year, features a QWERTY keypad backed up by a powerful 1.5GHz processor to deal with your business needs.
Nokia Lumia 1520
The most advanced Lumia device on the market at the moment, the 6in 1520 offers the latest version of Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS as well as built-in Microsoft Office, meaning you can view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files without losing any original formatting.
Apps such as Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 and Lync are also provided as a given, so you can remained connected even when far away from the office, and Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud system also allows you to save and edit files whenever it suits you.
HTC One M8
HTC has thrown a lot of its weight behind its latest flagship device, and it’s safe to say that the effort has more than paid off. The One M8 builds on the hugely successful HTC One smartphone released last year to offer a bigger screen, better performance and lots of new features.
This includes tweaked Mail and Calendar apps which allow much quicker and smoother access to your work schedule, meaning you’ll always be on top of the day’s activities. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, the One M8 also features a 2600mAh battery which should keep you powered up all day long.
