Mobile phone image sensor developer Advasense has received a further $6m in its series B funding round to take the total amount raised to $20m. The Ra’anana, Israel-based company said it has produced a 3-megapixel sensor and will use the money raised to take this to 5 megapixels.
The company said its technology enables the production of high image resolution imagers with small pixels at a competitive price. Its CMOS image sensor products include image stabilization that uses the pixel array as a memory, providing sharper images in low lighting situations.
CIDC is the latest contributor to the round and joins existing investors Genesis Partners, Giza Venture Capital, BlueRun Ventures, and VentureTech Alliance.
