Advanced Micro Devices has announced another deal to expand its influence in China.
The chip vendor has opened a computing client development center in Beijing, along with BLX IC Design Corporation, which will concentrate on thin client solutions. These will be built around AMD’s Alchemy embedded offering and BLX’ Godson processor offering. The companies said they have already completed two reference designs. AMD hopes to grab piece of the growing China PC market, by offering processor solutions priced lower than its main rival, Intel. Two days ago it announced a joint venture with Beijing’s Founder Group.
