AT&T and Sun Microsystems have reached an agreement to jointly market and sell all of AT&T’s managed services that use Sun technology. The two companies also plan to co-market each other’s professional services. AT&T and Sun believe that by agreeing the deal they are responding to the needs of businesses that want to reduce the complexity, challenges and risks of operating global enterprise networks.
AT&T will provide a range of managed services, including hosting, security and network management, as well as support for those services using AT&T’s infrastructure and management systems. Sun will provide the technical consulting services to architect integrated solutions that incorporate Sun and AT&T technologies to build a network infrastructure environment.
The terms of the agreement state that the services will be sold by the two companies direct sales forces, value added resellers, independent software vendors, as well as application development and systems integration firms.
