72% of business and analytics leaders are not satisfied with the amount of time it takes to get data analytic results, with 90% of that number citing challenges with data blending as the main cause of the delay.

These statistics highlight that the lack of data blending capabilities is resulting in time delays for data analytics results.

67% of organisations say they do not have analysts who are able to bring together data from various systems. This is either due to having to wait on others to deliver the data or because they aren’t able to access the data they need.

Paul Ross, Vice President of Product Marketing and Alteryx, said: "The reality is that analysts face major challenges in creating the dataset that addresses the business question they are looking to answer."

"This survey shows the revenue and profit opportunities that are being missed, and should be a rallying cry for business leaders to empower their analysts to be able to deliver insights in hours, instead of the weeks typical of traditional processes."

One of the largest hurdles facing business decision-makers is getting the insight that will drive critical decisions in departments like sales, operations or finance.

Other issues that are were identified in causing real business problems included the failure to equip analysts with the right tools, the speed of answer not being fast enough and delays in getting and producing data.

Blending the right data from different sources quickly enough has become a big challenge for data analysts. Data analysts often require a number of tools or people to get the right dataset before the analytical process can begin.

The survey by Alteryx asked 200 analysts and analytics leaders and indicates a need for business leaders to address these data blending deficiencies within their organisations.
