Implementation of Agresso will allow standardisation of processes and reporting across the council based on enhanced practice across local government
Bristol City Council in the UK has awarded 5-year contract to Agilisys to implement a new integrated Finance, HR and Asset management system as part of its transformation programme.
Under the first phase, Agilisys will install and externally host UNIT4’s Agresso Local Government Platform which will offer a modern application to improve services and efficiencies.
Implementation of Agresso will allow standardisation of processes and reporting across the council based on enhanced practice across local government.
Hosting the Agresso platform through Agilisys’ secure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (Iaas) application will reduce the support costs, after decommissioning the current mainframe application.
In addition, the new system will also introduce a self-service capability, improving the end user experience.
Bristol City Council Corporate Finance head Graham Friday said the Council is undergoing a radical change to its organisational structure and delivery mechanisms to ensure it provides cost effective and fit for purpose services.
"A key part of this change is to improve the way that the Council captures and uses financial, human resource and performance data/information to help it make effective decisions," Friday said.
"After a very competitive tendering process we are happy to be working with Agilisys to help us implement the Agresso Business World application, which we see as forming the core to the changes we are looking to make."
