Broadcom, a manufacturer of semiconductors for wired and wireless communications, has introduced a 65 nanometer single-chip gigabit Ethernet controller that integrates client manageability via web services-based management, as well as advanced security for Microsoft Windows Vista requirements.
In support of open client manageability protocols, the new controller features a centralized architecture that provides an advanced level of secure, remote offline manageability. This enables IT professionals to efficiently and securely manage their desktop and mobile systems from anywhere in the world, at any time, regardless of the state of the system (OS-present, OS-absent or out-of- service).
Broadcom BCM5761 with TruManage technology, the enterprise-class Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controller that supports both DASH and PMCI protocols and interfaces on a single chip. The TruManage technology was developed from innovative hardware and firmware solutions, and since the technology is based on open standards, it is processor and chipset vendor- agnostic, which in turn, could enable the proliferation of advanced client manageability throughout the enterprise.
