Japanese networking company Buffalo has launched the Wi-Fi Gamers, a device that enables users to access online and wireless gaming experiences without a PC.
The company said that the new device is compatible with Nintendo’s Wii, DS and DS Lite and Sony’s PlayStation and Playstation3 consoles. Its AirStation one-touch secure system (AOSS) router will provide the internet connection, store security settings and enable devices to link wirelessly.
Buffalo said that the device contains an embedded LCD monitor, which shows current set up status, the status of AOSS, wireless network and connection status. The other features include firmware upgrade, manual changing of wireless channel, wireless channel display, auto channel selection and show connected devices.
The Wi-Fi Gamers will be available at the end of the month for $51 along with a two-year warranty.
Buffalo has launched other Wi-Fi devices, including the AirStation WLI-U2-SG54HP, a wireless LAN adapter for enhancing PC Wi-Fi signals launched earlier this year.
