Canadian IT services firm CGI Group Inc [GIB] has continued to perform well over 2003, with strong growth in both profit and revenue for the full year ended September 30, 2003.
Montreal-based CGI reported net profit up 30% at C177.4 million ($135 million) on revenue that grew 25.4% to C2.7 billion ($2 billion), compared to C2.2 billion ($1.6 billion) the previous year.
In the fourth quarter, sales were up 21% to C694.2 million ($528 million), while net income was up 36.4% to C48.5 million ($36.9 million).
In 2003, CGI made three niche and two large acquisitions, and booked C4 billion ($3 billion) in contract wins, renewals and extensions, compared with C3.5 billion ($2.7 billion) of bookings in 2002. During the year, CGI and its affiliated companies added more than 5,400 new staff, and it now employs 20,000 people around the world.
CGI stuck to its previous guidance for the upcoming year, and said it expects revenue and earnings per share to grow between 8% and 17% in fiscal 2004.
