Equity crowdfunding platform AngelList has launched UK syndicates which will allow investors to invest in UK- based startups.
The platform has started with 10 UK syndicates, led by early-stage investors including Robin Klein, Forward Partners, and Seedcamp, according to TechCrunch.
According to reports, in 2014 AngelList invested more than $100m in US startups and is hoping that a UK launch will be able to do the same for UK startups.
AngelList said: "The UK startup market is vibrant. There were several big UK acquisitions in 2014: Deepmind for a reported $500+M, NaturalMotion for $527M and CSR for $2.5B."
"There were also several big UK IPOs in 2014: Just-Eat, Zoopla and King.com. There are over 5,000 UK companies on AngelList alone."
The firm allows investors to invest alongside VC funds and angels in exchange of a part of the carry on deal, reported TechCrunch.
UK syndicates are open to investors across the world and according to reports UK citizens are expected to benefit from the tax breaks through the government-backed incentives.
