CSC has announced that a leading Massachusetts-based insurer has licensed and is now using its new Precedent ID software. The insurance firm will use Precedent ID to increase consistency during claims assessment and negotiation, and apply best practices in claims settlements.
Precedent ID is a web-based application that enables adjusters to search an insurer’s unique closed claims database for potentially precedential claims to support assessment and negotiation.
The software incorporates new technology to analyze the relationships and constraints surrounding injuries, treatments, prognoses and loss payments. It is the only commercially available software that integrates information across claims evaluation, negotiation and resolution.
Precedent ID complements and expands CSC’s P&C claims and legal offerings, which include the Legal Solutions Suite, Claims Desktop, and Exceed Claims Administration.
With the addition of Precedent ID to our software portfolio, CSC offers the most comprehensive suite of claims and legal products to the property and casualty insurance market, said Ray August, president of the P&C insurance division of CSC’s financial services group. With this new software, insurers’ claims professionals will be able to improve customer service, process claims more consistently and reduce redundancies.
