NTT DoCoMo’s 3G mobile network will soon also allow PCs to connect. The Japanese operator is to sell a new 3G FOMA F2611 terminal with both hub and router functions next week.
The terminal will enable offices to connect up to four computers to the Internet through its 3G network. The service, which is designed for SOHOs and temporary offices, does not require a fixed broadband Internet connection to be arranged for the office.
It will provide users with high-speed packet transactions at up to 384 kbps for both sending and receiving data. The hub will enable the connection of up to four PCs, while the router allows settings to be handled via PC web browsers.
DoCoMo is also including a Bluetooth handset, which can be used at a distance of up to seven meters from the terminal.
