eBay has launched a new service that enables users to bid for items using their mobile phones. The service was launched in partnership with wireless company InPhonic.
Wireless Rebidding builds on eBay’s existing wireless email service which sends messages to customers when an auction is about to close or when someone has been outbid. Customers can now reply to these messages and submit a new bid for a monthly fee of $2.99. The service is available via both SMS two-way messaging and WAP mobile Internet services.
