Facebook to enable industries get social
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said that the next things to become social are music, television shows and education.
However, Zuckerberg added that it is not in his company’s DNA to get into such verticals and that the company’s role would be limited to helping other companies improve.
Speaking at the eG8 forum in Paris, Zuckerberg said, "Is Facebook going to do those? No way."
"We don’t have the DNA to be a music company or a movie company.
"But I hope we can help those companies become more social. We’re going to see a lot of the transformation in these industries over the next three, five years that we have with gaming so far."
The Facebook founder said that industries in music, entertainment and media have the potential to be rebuilt again with the integration of social media.
He said, "People listen to music with friends, you read news and discuss it with friends. These industries can be rebuilt from the ground up with social. The opportunities when you make these companies social are a lot bigger than they are."
