Charles Letts, a UK-based global leader in commercial diary manufacturing, has selected Epicor Software’s Vantage enterprise resource planning suite to replace its existing planning system.
Charles Letts, a division of the Letts Filofax Group, began looking for a new system upon learning that its current manufacturing resource planning software was to become unsupported, with no direct upgrade path.
The company selected Epicor’s offering after concluding that it met the key requirements of being capable of meeting the company’s business requirements across the scope of its current system, and being scalable to accommodate a minimum of 150 users. In addition, Charles Letts required a software supplier with a large user base both in the UK and worldwide.
Vantage enables the whole manufacturing process to be real-time and paperless. It helps streamline the order cycle and enables enterprises to maximize operational efficiency, minimize costs and improve profitability. Furthermore, the enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite has demonstrated impressive sales growth, with strong double-digit growth in UK sales over the past year.
From the suppliers who were on the shortlist for onsite demonstrations, Epicor demonstrated a system flexible enough to meet our business requirements without need for major modification, said Kenny Skivington, business information analyst for Charles Letts. We felt Epicor understood best our complex planning methods and gave a commitment to meet those requirements during the implementation phase.
Mr Skivington went on to praise the flexibility of the ERP software, and stated that the .NET technology and Epicor’s partnership with Microsoft should bode well for future releases. This will, no doubt, be important to Charles Letts, considering the discontinuation of support for its existing system.
