Users can share maps, and can also deploy GIS functionality on windows phone
Esri, a provider of GIS offering to organisation, has launched Windows Phone 7 application for providing Microsoft Windows Phone users with mapping capabalities on their phone using ArcGIS for Windows Phone app.
The new ArcGIS for Windows Phone enables users to share maps as well as deploy GIS data and functionality on Windows Phone devices, the company said.
ArcGIS for Windows Phone features enables users to explore and navigate maps; find places and addresses; query map layers and data; and collect, edit, and update features and attribute information while performing field data collection and inspection projects.
Esri, in addition to this Windows phone platform application, has launched ArcGIS API for Windows Phone, where developers can create user defined applications for Windows Phone devices, which can be deployed within an enterprise or to the public via the Windows Marketplace using this API.
