Global electronic commerce and payment services firm First Data International has partnered with NCS network and communication service Deutschland GmbH & Co to offer mobile payment and e-commerce services to merchants and consumers around the world.
The joint service will be known as Crandy and will provide an easy, ‘ready to use’ solution for anyone wishing to send or receive mobile payments. At present, this solution serves 360,000 consumers in four European countries, and provides merchants with a simple, fast, secure and inexpensive mobile payment system for handling micro-payments.
The convenience of the service is highlighted by the fact that cashless micro-payments can be made by consumers anytime, anywhere, for on-street, mobile and internet transactions, including person to person payments, using their mobile handset.
Other key benefits of Crandy to merchants and consumers include lower transaction costs due to the more efficient transaction routing system and increased revenue for on-street ticketing and vending merchants if consumers choose the mobile payment option over cash.
