Fujitsu Microelectronics America has launched the first four-stacked multi-chip package. The new package incorporates a pair of 64 megabit NOR dual-operation flash memory chips. It also includes a 32 megabit mobile Fast Cycle RAM with an asynchronous SRAM interface and 8 megabit SRAM.
The new stacked memory series is more compact and runs on less power. In addition, the series offers more capacity and speed.
Fujitsu also announced a two-stacked multi-chip package. This comes with a 16, 32 and 64 megabit Fast Cycle RAM and is designed for mobile phones. The chip supplies access speeds of 80ns and 70ns. Standby current is 70, 100 and 150 microamps, while powerdown current is only 10 microamps.
