Fujitsu Computer Products of America has launched its Mhz 2 BH series mobile hard disk drive.
The new Perpendicular Magnetic Recording (PMR) drive series attains up to 320GB, the industry’s highest capacity point for a 2.5” 5400RPM hard disk drive (HDD), and with the Serial ATA (SATA) 3.0 Gb/sec interface, delivers transfer speeds of up to 300MB per second. Developed in response to the growing demand for higher capacity storage products required for notebook PCs, compact PCs, consumer electronics and power-conscious applications, the MHZ2 BH will be available to customers in the first quarter of 2008.
Joel Hagberg, vice president of marketing and business development at Fujitsu Computer Products of America, said: The Fujitsu R&D team is dedicated to improving performance across the entire product line, and in light of many customers’ green initiatives, we are excited to deliver mobile HDDs with best-in-class power consumption. The new MHZ2 BH series makes it possible for customers to build systems with industry-leading capacities, without sacrificing system performance, ensured reliability and energy conservation.
