As part of efforts to imporve Google+
Google has snapped up online poll firm Polar which will now be added to Google Plus, in a move that could support the dire shortage of opinions on the web.
Polar said in a statement: "Polar started with the simple idea that everyone has an opinion worth hearing.
"Since then one in every 449 Internet users told us what their opinion was by voting on a Polar poll.
"Our deepest thanks go out to each and every one of you."
Polar has carried out polls for a range of media firms such as HBO, TechCrunch and USA Today, while it now not accept new customers and wind up its business to concentrate on new Google Plus projects.
Google is reportedly separating the photos service from Google Plus in a bid to lure more users by converting it into a new standalone feature.
