Granada chief executive Steve Morrison has announced his resignation. The move was expected following the collapse of Granada and Carlton’s ITV Digital joint venture. Morrison will leave his post at the end of September.
Granada will not replace Morrison, and chairman Charles Allen will now take a more active role in the day to day running of the business. The company has also announced the appointment of Sir George Russell as non-executive deputy chairman. In a statement Allen claimed the management changes positioned the company to take advantage of consolidation and other opportunities made possible through new legislation.
